Since the installation of their first PicoColour, Cresta Labels has enjoyed a marked increase in demand for digital print. So much so, that the company very soon needed a second press.
Company
Cresta Labels, a Nottinghamshire-based family business, has been providing flexible labelling solutions across a wide range of industries for over 40 years. Specialists in a range of services, Cresta has built a reputation for quick turnarounds, working to tight deadlines and providing an excellent personable service.
Requirement
Following the installation of their first PicoColour UV inkjet digital press in March 2018, the firm quickly benefitted from increased efficiencies, enhanced flexibility, as well as a marked increase in digital production for their customers. To cope with demand, it was clear from the outset that a second PicoColour press would be required.
Solution
With the business case for a second digital press being clear, Cresta took delivery of a second PicoColour press in April 2019, complementing their existing PicoColour UV inkjet digital press. The second press was installed with a range of additional options, including variable data, lamination, chiller rollers and a Corona unit, as well as the option to add white as a field upgrade if required. Being one of the most innovative printing presses available on the market, it was a logical move for Cresta to invest in a secondary PicoColour UV inkjet digital press to complete their digital line-up.
Benefits
Cresta Labels has benefitted from their investment in a number of key areas:
- Outstanding print quality on fine detail and block
- Super-fast turnaround
- Ability to print, convert and finish in one pass
- Flexibility to switch between presses
- Small machine footprint enabling two presses in one room
- No additional costs for substrate treatment
- Time saving and efficiencies
- Ability to continue growth in new markets
- Continued excellent service support
Feedback
“The PicoColour just performs so well and exceeds all our expectations – the fine detail and block solids are excellent, and the ability to print, convert and finish in one pass is invaluable. Coupled with customer demand and the flexibility it gives between digital presses, the investment in a second PicoColour was essential for the business.”
“The purchase of a second press was not something taken lightly and was far in advance of our original plans, probably by a couple of years – but with the opportunities it gives, we are hugely excited about the future of digital at Cresta. Through the whole process Dantex’s expertise and knowledge has been excellent, and we know we are dealing with the right people as our long term digital partners.”
